New Feeds
Breaking the silence. As you have noticed, the light here has changed significantly. Aye – it’s all going to be black. I am preparing the relaunch of scienceunderfire to version 4. This reskinning of my blog is the first glimpse of the new. It is going to be graphically even more reduced, but therefore gaining depth in content. Every case will get it’s own page. The online-documentation of my TITAN project will be online next week aswell. I will really try to get this here running more smoothly in 2009. There will be more updates in the wake of the full launch.
Graduation July 17
Titan Teaser online
Months, weeks and days of hard work finally pay off on July 17, 10:30 AM. That is the time and date for graduation in visual communications. Six years of studying and working in parallel are finally over and it is about time. I am looking forward to the upcoming times and that i will be able to care about freelance projects fulltime now!
Enjoy the Teaser for TITAN!

On a journey to the Saturnian System
Yes, it has been some months since the last post here on the scienceunderfire blog. Reason for this is anything else but lazyness – I just have been tugged into a vortex of work with my diploma project TITAN since beginning of this year. The final release date has been shifted from May to mid of July and i still want to keep secrecy about it. But enjoy these sneak peek images from the bluebox-shooting we did last saturday. And, yes, i know it is an antique bluebox. Oldschool blue, not the newer green stuff. But the material we shot is great, considering the circumstances and I am really eager to put everything together as perfectly as I am able to. You may expect a teaser/trailer for TITAN a few weeks before release. So I am keeping you in suspense. Thanks a lot to all the people who helped me so far and keep doing it - especially the ones, who made this shooting possible – a great addition. If we would have not done it that way, the project would lack some human soul!
Three Shoeys
Ok, everybody - three “Shoebacca” prints are still available - write me an email to get one! There is a little charge (including shipping costs), but i will tell all the details then. First come, first served!
Note: all Shoeys are long gone!
Shoebacca
i did a limited edition of 20 screenprints (70×100 cm). This “Shoebacca” is the first theme of my Star Wars Revisited series – more will follow later this year. Three of the posters, numbers 4, 10 and 17, were presented at the udk-minirundgang on friday - they were free to take off the walls to whereever you want! I hope they will find a cool and nice place to stay in the end.
The rest will first go to some selected places and persons. If some are left to give away after that, i will give an update here next week and i might ship them worldwide for a little charge, of course!

Version Three
Though still busy with my diploma, i was also restructuring scienceunderfire. As i am having a lot of plans for my time after graduation, scienceunderfire needs to fit those needs – in advance. i will be leaving all the media-rich and large-scale websites to projects. this blog will be still the place to get an update on my doings, but it will all fit into a superreduced approach. you will get references and no more moving, fancy things anymore. some projects are removed, some older ones added and a bunch of new achievements posted. update your bookmarks and links to those two addresses now:

Duel of the Iron Giants
The actual PAGE-Magazine issue 03/08 features cover-artwork by me. Two duelling giant robots depict how the relationship between creatives and clients is sometimes loaded with tension – the main topic of this issue. Thanks to Gabriele at PAGE for providing the opportunity
to show my work at such a prominent place!

Living On Titan
It has been a while that i was posting here, but my diploma project and the holidays have kept me away from scuf for a while. I have set up a documentation blog for the project providing some insight on what you can expect in may 2008. Note that a lot of posts on the blog will be protected from access until the final release of the project in May 2008.
Currently i am… http://www.livingontitan.com enjoying some deep space freezers!
My second soul
there are some people out there, who already know it, but most of you just could not know: music is my second soul besides graphic design since approximately 1997. it has been kept quite secret, i must admit. nothing online, nothing released and only the locals in hamburg and berlin possibly knowing. there were pauses and bumps as music does not seem to come that easily as graphic design. it took its time to polish that stuff for the public. but i hope it was worth it. “Digitalskillz” is the label – “Nomad” the name to look out for me. happy bangin’ on your eardrums - for those guys, who like soulful and jazzy drum&bass. i do.

Koi in the pond
the actual PAGE-magazine issue #12/2007, released just a few days ago at the beginning of november, features another contribution from me. the issue is focusing on democracy in design and i was asked to contribute a fish illustration for the “swarm” metaphor they are using. to remain true to my visual style, it had to be a robotic animal, of course. enjoy my 3D Tancho Koi swimming in the pond. It is printed big at the content index page and a small part of the swarm.
